A Muscatine Police officer was shot Friday night, and the suspect is still at large.
Mark Lee Jackson is accused of shooting the officer…whose identity has not been released…at about 5:30 p.m. on the 1400 block of Grandview Avenue. Police say the shooting happened after a vehicle chase turned into a foot chase. Video of part of the chase showing what is believed to be Jackson’s car hitting a garage while avoiding a police cruiser was later posted to Facebook. That video can be found below.

The officer is in stable condition, and the search for Jackson is ongoing. Muscatine residents were warned Friday night to shelter in place until they are told otherwise.
