A Minnesota man faces possible jail time after police reportedly found him asleep on the property of a University of Iowa sorority.

Just before 10pm Friday, officers were called to Delta Gamma Sorority on reports of an intoxicated male asleep on the property. When police arrived, 20-year-old Vincent Gruis of Little Canada Minnesota got up and ran into the sorority house away from officers.

When police apprehended Gruis, he allegedly had bloodshot watery eyes, unsteady balance, slurred speech and the odor of ingested alcohol. He reportedly handed officers a fictitious Minnesota driver’s license showing him to be of legal drinking age.

A PBT showed his breath-alcohol level at .207 percent.

Gruis was charged with possession of a fake ID and public intoxication. If convicted on both charges, he faces a maximum jail sentence of 13 months.
