A Coralville man who was wanted for failing to update his sex offender status was arrested last week.
Police say 39-year-old Lattiney Lockett was required by the state of Iowa to register with the Iowa Sex Offender Registry for a 2006 conviction in Galesburg Illinois for Predatory Criminal Sexual Abuse of a Child.
On May 28th 2025, Lockett reported his primary address as an apartment on the Coralville Strip. A police officer conducted an address verification and the occupant of the apartment told them that Lockett didn’t currently live there. As of June 18th 2025, Lockett had not provide a compliant address and his whereabouts were unknown.
Lockett also reportedly missed the requirement to appear in person at the Sheriff’s Office to verify his address in July of last year.
Warrants were issued for Lockett’s arrest, and he remained at large until he was arrested Thursday. He’s been charged with providing false information to the Sex Offender Registry and a second violation of verification. If convicted on both counts, Lockett could be sentenced to up to ten years in prison.
