Iowa City Police have arrested a man they say was naked in a public park during broad daylight.
Officers were called to Riverfront Crossings Park on South Clinton Street just before 7:30 Wednesday night for a report of a nude man walking around. Investigators say they arrived to find 34-year-old Joseph Parsons of South Johnson Street sitting on a bench with his genitalia exposed. He was also allegedly sitting next to a vape pen that contained THC. A pipe with burnt residue was reportedly found in his backpack.
Parsons is charged with Possession of Marijuana – 3rd or Subsequent Offense and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. If convicted on both counts, he faces a maximum of 25 months in jail.
