

DES MOINES, Iowa—The National Weather Service Office in Des Moines has provided updated information concerning possible severe weather and heat. First, dangerous heat and humidity with heat indices of 100 to 110°F are expected today. Isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms are also possible with some storms producing strong winds, but widespread severe weather is unlikely.
For the heat, all of Iowa will be affected. For the thunderstorms, they are expected in central into southern Iowa. The heat continues today, then will be moderating into Tuesday. A few storms are possible early this morning, but otherwise they’re mainly expected in the afternoon.
