A Coralville man has been arrested after allegedly destroying an ATM.
Police took 38-year-old Mathew Rawson of 21st Avenue Place into custody Monday at around 4:15pm. According to the arrest warrant, Rawson was at the Dupaco Credit Union branch on Corridor Way just before 2am July 18th. He allegedly intentionally damaged the drive-up ATM using a variety of tools such as a pick axe, sledgehammer, and other similar tools.
The damage Rawson reportedly caused totaled $40,000.
A warrant for his arrest was issued on Friday. Rawson faces a charge of 1st degree Criminal Mischief and could be sentenced to up to ten years in prison if convicted.
