A Town and Campus resident was arrested on a warrant stemming from an incident last month where was allegedly found with crack cocaine.
Police say a search warrant was conducted at the Arthur Street apartment of 34-year-old Lavonta Turner on the afternoon of June 11th, and over 63 grams of crack was reportedly located in the kitchen of the residence.
Turner’s roommate had his cell phone seized during the search, and investigators allegedly found multiple massages that implicated Tuner in the distribution of crack cocaine. The messages reportedly discussed the drug, where the buyers needed it, and the cost of the crack.
Turner was arrested on the warrant Friday night, and faces a Class B Controlled Substance Violation and Failure to affix Drug Stamp. If convicted on both counts, he could be sentenced to up to 30 years in prison.
