An Iowa City woman faces assault charges after allegedly hitting another woman with a metal spoon.
The incident occurred at the Town and Campus Apartments on Arthur Street at 8:12pm August 19th. According to police, 44-year-old Javon Riley of Spring Ridge Drive was involved in an altercation with the victim, who stated Riley pushed her to the ground and struck her on the head with a metal spoon.
The victim had a red mark on her arm from the altercation.
Riley was arrested and charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury and could face up to a year in jail if convicted.
