An Iowa City man was arrested Saturday night after allegedly using a stolen credit card to purchase alcohol at a downtown bar.
According to the police report, 49-year-old Franklin Rask of Gilbert Court was at the Stuffed Olive at around 10pm and used the victim’s credit card to purchase alcohol for $7.17. The victim reported losing her credit card downtown, and was later notified of the purchase by Rask. Bar staff allegedly confirmed that Rask used the stolen card to purchase alcohol there.
Rask was taken into custody and charged with Unauthorized Use of a Credit Card, an aggravated misdemeanor. He could be sentenced to up to two years in jail if convicted.
