An Iowa City man was taken into custody Wednesday night after allegedly assaulting his father.
The incident occurred at the Ronalds Street residence of 18-year-old Christopher Santarerelli just before 11:30pm. According to police, he was confronted by his dad for sneaking someone into the house. Santarrelli allegedly started to push his dad and eventually punched him in the face, causing a cut above his eye that bled.
Santarrelli was arrested and charged with domestic abuse assault causing injury, a serious misdemeanor punishable by a jail sentence of up to a year if convicted.
