

DES MOINES, Iowa—The National Weather Service Office in Des Moines has updated information concerning the following severe weather and hydrology concerns: Rounds of thunderstorms and heavy rainfall will continue through the weekend. Persistent heavy rainfall could lead to flash flooding and/or river flooding. Severe weather chances return overnight tonight; damaging winds will be the primary threat.
The affected area will be mainly southern and central Iowa tonight with widespread light rain is expected Sunday. The severe storm potential will be overnight with the heaviest rain mainly during the overnight periods.
