A local transient was arrested Sunday morning after allegedly attacking another man with an axe.
The incident occurred at Mesquakie Park on McCollister Boulevard just before 9:30am. According to police, 34-year-old Daniel Wolfe confronted the victim because he was yelling for no reason. He approached the man while holding an axe.
Wolfe told police that the man threw a rock at him, so he hit the victim with his axe, cutting his bicep and hand.
Wolfe has been charged with Assault while displaying a Dangerous Weapon, an aggravated misdemeanor punishable by a prison term not exceeding two years if convicted.
