

DES MOINES, Iowa—The National Weather Service Office in Des Moines has released updated information concerning severe weather. There’s a diminishing threat severe storms and heavy rain overall today, but a few severe storms may still occur. Damaging wind gusts are the primary hazard, though isolated instances of heavy rain or some hail may occur. There’s a marginal (Level 1 of 5) risk for severe weather across much of the state today. Slight (Level 2 of 4) risk for heavy rain over the southern half of Iowa. Expect scattered showers and storms much of the day today.
