According to a press release from the Sac City Police Department, on June 30th, 2026, at approximately 10:32PM, the Sac City Police Department responded to a report of a domestic assault in progress at a residence in Sac City, Iowa.
Following an initial investigation, Paul Bainbridge, age 32 of Sac City, was located and arrested during the early morning hours of July 1st, 2026. At the time of arrest, Paul Bainbridge was charged with:
• Child Endangerment (Aggravated Misdemeanor)
• Harassment in the First Degree (Aggravated Misdemeanor)
• Domestic Abuse Assault While Displaying or Using a Dangerous Weapon (Aggravated Misdemeanor)
• Obstruction of Emergency Communications (Simple Misdemeanor)
Following continued investigation later that day (July 1st), Paul Bainbridge was additionally charged with:
• Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon (Class C Felony)
• Willful Injury Causing Bodily Injury (Class D Felony)
As the investigation continued, Paul Bainbridge was subsequently charged on July 24th, 2026, with Kidnapping in the First Degree (Class A Felony) in connection with the June 30th incident.
The Sac City Police Department was assisted by the Sac County Sheriff’s Office and the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office.
The investigation remains ongoing. No further information is being released at this time.
