An Iowa City man was taken into custody early Wednesday morning after an alleged residential burglary.

Police were dispatched to an address on Sunset Street just after 2:30 am for a burglary that had jiust occurred. The victim provided a clothing description of the suspect, and said a wallet was stolen.

Officers came upon 32-year-old Da’rell Henry of Broadway Street near the scene of the crime, and he reportedly matched the description provided by the victim. He allegedly ran from officers but was apprehended.

Henry was in possession of a black pillow case and a glove; a search of the path Henry was on discovered the other glove and the victim’s wallet.

Henry was charged with 2nd degree Burglary and Interference with Official Acts. If convicted on both counts, he could be sentenced to over ten years in prison.
