The University of Iowa student most seriously injured in the Ped Mall shooting back in April has been moved to a rehab center to continue her recovery.

MIranda Peters spent over two weeks in intensive care after the shooting. An update on her GoFundMe page earlier this month by her sister said she was moved to the center on May 18th. She has been progressing, and is now smiling, laughing and reacting to conversations.

Over $210,000 has been raised to help with her medical expenses.

17-year-old Damarian Jones, the suspect in the shooting, was arrested in Georgia and is awaiting extradition to Iowa to face several charges, including five counts of attempted murder.
