A single vehicle accident near Williamsburg injured one person and tied up traffic on Interstate 80 Thursday night.
The Iowa State Patrol reports a 2012 BMW X5 was westbound just west of the Williamsburg exit when it left the roadway just after 6:30 p.m. and crashed into the cable barrier in the median. The accident report indicates the reason the driver lost control is unknown, although a medical emergency has not been ruled out.
The crash remains under investigation.
