A group of Eastern Iowa radio stations is set to be sold to a subsidiary of Madison-based Civic Media.
NRG Media currently owns four radio stations serving Waterloo and Cedar Falls, including Rock 108, 105.7 KOKZ, 1540 KXEL, and 107.3 HANK FM. The first three stations also provide strong signals to Iowa City and Cedar Rapids, and the company has a studio in Hiawatha.
According to a news release from Civic, the four stations will be sold to the group’s subsidiary, Cedar Basin Media.
The purchase price was not immediately disclosed. The expansion marks Civic Media’s entry into Iowa after previously buying stations in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Minnesota.
