An arrest has been made after a threat against the Washington County Hospital led to a facility lockdown on Thursday morning.

According to Washington Police, at approximately 9:15am officers were dispatched to the medical facility after 60-year-old Roger Lee Smith of Brighton had made threats against staff via telephone.  Smith indicated, “lots of people were going to get hurt.”  Smith also stated that a particular hospital employee should be out front and wear a vest, insinuating the threat of a forcible felony.

Smith was located in Washington and was arrested and charged with 1st Degree Harassment.

If convicted, Smith faces a maximum of two years in jail.
