A North Liberty man who recorded himself sexually assaulting an unconscious victim could spend up to a decade in prison.
35-year-old Edil Perez Zuniga was accused of using his cellphone to record several videos of him sexually assaulting the victim at his Ash Court residence just after 2:45 a.m. last New Year’s Day.
The victim reportedly found the videos after Perez Zuniga showed them an unrelated video on his phone. The videos were reportedly still on the phone when it was searched by police.
Perez Zuniga pleaded guilty to a 3rd Degree Sexual Abuse. On Wednesday, Judge Andrew Chappel sentenced him to ten years in prison.
An Invasion of Privacy charge was dropped as part of a plea deal.
