An Iowa City man wanted on active warrants faces additional charges after arresting officers reportedly discovered drugs on his person.
Officers located 35-year-old Kelvin Ware of Carskill Court on Coneflower Court Wednesday at approximately 5:12am, knowing that he had active warrants for his arrest. Officers conducted a search of his person and located a bag with marijuana inside of it, as well as a bag containing suspected cocaine and a straw cut in half with cocaine residue inside.
Ware faces charges of marijuana possession, 2nd offense controlled substance possession, and possession of drug paraphernalia. If convicted on all counts, he faces a prison sentence of over three years.
