DES MOINES, Iowa—The National Weather Service Office in Des Moines has released the most recent information concerning the following severe weather. Two rounds of storms are expected Wednesday. Forecaster have higher confidence in morning storms with the main threats of large hail and damaging wind gusts. All severe hazards are then possible in the afternoon (damaging winds, large hail, tornado, isolated heavy rain) but there remains more uncertainty in storm development. The morning storms are expected – north central to eastern Iowa. Afternoon storms will be – roughly east half of Iowa, but particularly southeast Iowa. Timing will be important. At this time Wednesday early morning (4 AM) through early evening (6 PM) will be the time frame with multiple rounds possible.
