DES MOINES, Iowa—The National Weather Service Office in Des Moines has released updated information concerning extreme heat and humidity and several chances for severe storms. Heat will be located across much of Iowa today and south & southeast Iowa Thursday. Severe storm potential will be found in the northern half of Iowa late this afternoon and tonight and over much of Iowa through at least Thursday.
