Allegedly trying to panhandle from a subject who has a no-contact order against her has led to the arrest of an Iowa City woman.

Iowa City Police say 37-year-old Janetta Walker of Wayne Avenue approached a man near the intersection of Clinton and College Streets just before 9:00 last Tuesday night and asked him for money. The man has a current order of protection against Walker, and the interaction was observed by an Iowa City Police officer.

Walker was arrested and charged with a No-Contact Order Violation.

Walker made news in 2023 when police say she called 9-1-1 multiple times because she was arguing with her roommate and was unhappy with the officers who had initially been dispatched to her then-South Van Buren Street apartment and she wanted new officers sent.
