BOONE, Iowa—High winds were apparently responsible for snapping a power pole and causing a fire in a tree near the KWBG Transmitter building overnight Tuesday. The report to the Boone County Communications Center was 11:45 p.m. The Boone Fire Department responded to extinguish the tree fire, but needed to wait for Alliant to disconnect the power. At this time, Alliant has replaced it’s power pole but service has not been restored to the transmitter building. Once that’s completed, KWBG should be able to restore our AM signal. In the meantime, KWBG FM 101.5 and www.kwbglive.com will continue to provide you with our regular programming.
