
DES MOINES, Iowa—The National Weather Service Office in Des Moines has updated information about the severe weather severe weather and dangerous heat conditions. The dangerous heat and humidity continues this evening and then again across the south on Tuesday. Line of severe storms with damaging winds expected in the region late this evening into the overnight hours. Additional storm chances continue Tuesday evening through Wednesday.
For the heat: Area-wide into this evening, then in portions of south central to southern Iowa on Tuesday. For the storms: Highest threat in Iowa is near and north of roughly US-20 tonight, though storms may reach into portions of central Iowa as well. Highest storm chances on Tuesday evening/night are in southwest to portions of west central Iowa, and then across the south on Wednesday.
