A 20 year old Newton man is accused of purposely leaving 3 dogs at Sunset Park. Newton Police have charged Alexander Franco with Abandonment of Dogs with No Injury. The dogs were found abandoned at the park last Friday afternoon. The Police report states Franco told officers he wanted to give the dogs away to Parkview Animal Hospital, but the 1st Avenue East facility would not take them without calling the Police. Officers allegedly talked to witnesses who said the dogs were Franco’s, and that he left the dogs at Sunset Park on purpose. The 20 year old is free on his own recognizance, with a court hearing scheduled for March 26th.
