Union County Board of Supervisors Thursday approved a request for Bible reading to be held on the courthouse lawn starting at 7:14 a.m. Thursday, July 14.
For several years, volunteers have asked for permission to read all or portions of the Bible on Iowa county courthouse lawns. Union County has allowed the event in the past.
In other supervisor news, approval was given to various end of fiscal year items including transfer of funds in various departments; homestead, military, disabled veterans, BPTC and family farm credit allowances. Salaries for fiscal year 2023 were also approved. The county’s fiscal year 2023 budget begins today.
