A Texas teenager was arrested Saturday after allegedly threatening to kill a Waukee man in the home.
Carous Davis, 19, of 3801 E. Monte Cristo Road, Edinburg, Texas, was charged with first-degree harassment and going armed with intent.
The incident began about 1:30 a.m. Saturday at a residence in the 1000 block of Northview Drive in Waukee, where officers of the Waukee Police Department responded to a report of a disturbance.
The officers determined Davis and the victim were exchanging test messages prior to Davis’ arrival at the residence in which Davis allegedly threatened “that he was going to kill the victim,” according to court records.
When Davis arrived, the “victim locked himself in a bedroom in the home when,” and Davis tried “to enter the bedroom which was locked,” according to court records.
Davis then allegedly “retrieved a large kitchen knife” and “tried to go back upstairs to the victim’s room,” but another member of the household intervened in order to prevent Davis’ “carrying out the act with the knife,” according to court records.
Davis was held in the Dallas County Jail on a $7,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Aug. 11 in Dallas County District Court.
