LETTER: Democrat values stand in conflict with Christianity

You can’t call yourself a Christian and vote with the Democrat Party or anyone who supports evil. Words have meaning. So does a vote.

The Democrat Party’s official platform is not a vague political document — it is a declaration of values. And those values stand in direct, irreconcilable conflict with the core convictions of authentic Christianity.

The platform doubles down on support for abortion, IVF, and “gender-affirming health care.” These are not fringe positions buried in footnotes — they are the centerpiece commitments of the party.

The 2024 platform goes beyond prior versions by explicitly calling for the enshrinement of abortion into national law, making Roe v. Wade the law of the land. Every serious Christian tradition — Catholic, evangelical, Orthodox — affirms that life begins at conception and that the killing of innocent life is gravely evil. In 2022, every single Democrat in the U.S. Senate voted against the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which would have mandated care for infants who survive abortion procedures. That is not a policy difference. That is a moral catastrophe.

The only mention of marriage in the 2024 Democratic platform is in the context of protecting LGBTQ+ “marriage equality in federal law.” God defined marriage at Creation — one man, one woman (Genesis 2:24). No party platform changes that truth.

The U.S. Catholic bishops have opposed the Equality Act, saying it upholds the redefinition of marriage and frames gender as simply a “social construct,” and that it would “punish” religious groups opposed to these beliefs.

The platform even threatens Christian schools, which may lose federal funding for holding to biblical morality, stating: “Public tax dollars should never be used to discriminate.”

A Christian can disagree on tax policy, immigration strategy, or foreign aid. But one cannot vote to fund the slaughter of the innocent, redefine what God has established, or silence the Church — and then call that act consistent with following Christ.

Voting is a moral act. It demands a formed conscience — not a comfortable one.

On Tuesday, November 3rd, I humbly ask you to vote Republican. Republicans aren’t perfect, but their platform outweighs the evil and thought of the left-side agenda.
