An Iowa City man faces a felony charge after a deadly hit-and-run incident in Wisconsin.
The Iowa County, Wisconsin Sheriff’s Office says 49-year-old Ahmed Mustefa Deneto was driving a semi just after 6:00 Tuesday morning when he failed to stop at a stop sign outside Mineral Point and struck a passing motorcyclist. Investigators say Deneto then fled the scene without checking on the motorcyclist, who died at the scene.
Video from another semi was used to track down Deneto’s semi, and Deneto was arrested a few hours after the crash.
Deneto is now charged with Hit and Run Involving Death, a felony punishable by up to 25 years in prison upon conviction.
