Lucille Ann Thompson, 88, of Beacon, Iowa, passed away on September 21, 2026, at the Northern Mahaska Specialty Care Center in Oskaloosa. Born October 23, 1937, in Oskaloosa, she was the daughter of Bernard Harry and Edna Viola (Awtry) Loring. Lucille graduated from Oskaloosa High School in 1956, the same year she married Robert Simon Thompson. The couple lived in Oskaloosa and Silvis Heights, Illinois, moving several times before settling permanently in the Oskaloosa area in 1964. Lucille’s work included positions at Continental Overall Factory, Service Rubber plant, Tower Park Nursing Home, and most notably, C. L. Barnhouse, where she collated sheet music until her retirement in 1999. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and collecting dollhouses with their miniature furnishings. Lucille is survived by her children Joni Bingham, Rick (Jill) Thompson, and Connie (Ron) Lanphier; eight grandchildren including Ryan (Karen) Thompson and Jeff (Sarah) Lanphier; two granddaughters; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild on the way. She is also survived by her brother Glenn Stigers and several brothers- and sisters-in-law. Lucille was preceded in death by her husband and twelve siblings. As per her wishes, she was cremated.
