The Johnson County Sheriff’s office experienced a sewer backup Sunday Night.
KCRG TV reports in a Facebook Live post, Sheriff Brad Kunkel said the back up happened in a bathroom in the administrative offices. He showed sewage overflowed into hallways and rooms.
Water was shut off from part of the jail temporarily as crews worked to fix the issue.
The sheriff called it just another example of what staff and inmates have to deal with at the jail.
Voters will be voting on a $94 million bond issue for a proposed new jail and sheriff’s office this November.
