Iowa City man charged in drug bust that turned up over 12 pounds of marijuana, 4 pounds of psilocybin mushrooms, and numerous other drugs

Iowa City Police have charged a subject they say had over 12 pound of marijuana, four pounds of psilocybin mushrooms, and other drugs at his residence.

University of Iowa Police executed a search warrant at the residence of 32-year-old Emin Dizdar on the 600 block of South Van Buren Street just before 7:45 on the morning of October 20th, 2025. Items reportedly seized during the search include 27 packages containing over 12.5 pounds of marijuana, 17 jars of marijuana wax, over four pounds of psilocybin mushrooms, over a pound of cocaine, over 106 grams of ketamine, 283 diazepam pills, 23 trazodone pills, 45 buspirone pills, 20 baclofen pills, five firearms, miscellaneous ammunition, for scales, and approximately $10,500 in cash.

Dizdar is now charged with two Controlled Substance Violations and two counts of Failure to Affix a Drug Tax Stamp. If convicted on all charges, he faces up to 40 years in prison.
