Storm Lake’s Harmony Garden project is getting statewide attention as it competes in the Iowa League of Cities’ 2026 People’s Choice All‑Star Community Award Tournament.
The bracket‑style contest highlights standout community projects across Iowa, and residents can help Storm Lake advance by voting online.
Supporters can find the tournament on the Iowa League of Cities’ Facebook page and cast a vote by “liking” the Harmony Garden photo. First‑round voting closes Aug. 14, with the projects receiving the most likes moving on.
Harmony Garden, located on the Storm Lake Public Library and Witter Gallery grounds, features seven outdoor musical instruments inspired by cultures around the world, game play tables, a deck for classes and events, bench seating, device charging, new landscaping and trees planted by local second‑graders. The project was developed by the City of Storm Lake with support from a T‑Mobile Hometown Grant.
