Allegedly assaulting her son with a fan has led to an Iowa City woman’s arrest.
41-year-old Tyhkisa Jamison was booked into the Johnson County Jail just after 3:15 Friday afternoon. Jamison was allegedly involved in two different incidents on Friday. The first was just before 11:45 a.m., when she reportedly broke a window at her boyfriend’s grandmother’s Van Buren Street apartment. The grandson said Jamison would have assaulted the woman…who was at a dental appointment when Jamison arrived…if she had been home.
Just after 1:15 Friday afternoon Jamison allegedly pulled her son’s hair, scratched his arms, and hit him with a broken fan. The two live together at an apartment on Lakeside Drive.
Jamison was also wanted for a June 9th incident where she allegedly ran at a person while holding an improvised weapon above her head in a threatening manner on Dickenson Lane.
Jamison is charged with Domestic Abuse Assault Causing Injury, Assault While Displaying a Dangerous Weapon, and 5th Degree Criminal Mischief. If convicted on all counts, she faces a maximum of 37 months in jail.
