A Mechanicsville man was charged with operating his vehicle while under the influence after a weekend incident in Lisbon.
According to court records, 25-year-old Chad Sulzner of 182nd Avenue was attempting to trailer his boat after a day on the river fishing. He backed his 2012 Chevy Tahoe down the boat ramp, trailered the boat and drove the vehicle back up the ramp.
Sulzner allegedly struck other vehicles while trailering the boat.
Upon contact, he reportedly admitted to drinking and showed signs of impairment including bloodshot watery eyes, slurred speech, impaired balance and the odor of ingested alcohol.
After showing measurable impairment on field tests, Sulzner submitted to a PBT showing him over the legal limit to drive. A Datamaster test measured his breath-alcohol level at .173 percent.
Sulzner was charged with first offense OWI, a serious misdemeanor.
