

BOONE, Iowa—A 37 year old Ames man was pronounced deceased at the scene of a two-vehicle accident in Boone County Monday afternoon. According to a report from the Iowa State Patrol, the accident was reported about 2:00 in the afternoon, in the 2000 area of 190th Street. The report indicates that a Jeep Compass, driven by 34 year old Bailey Craven of Des Moines was traveling west on 190th Street crossed the center line and collided head-on with a semi operated by 26 year old Wyatt Corbin of Boone. The impact caused the Jeep to come to a rest in the south ditch on the driver’s side and the semi jack knifed on the roadway blocking both lanes of travel. Craven was flown from the scene by Lifeflight to Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. There’s no condition update. Tristin Nelson, the passenger in the Jeep was pronounced deceased at the scene. Corbin was not injured.
The Iowa State Patrol is handling the investigation and was assisted by multiple agencies at the scene.
