Five Linn County non-profits will receive grant funding from the County’s Legacy and Community Attraction Fund.
The Linn County Board of Supervisors has awarded a total of $50,000 in grants to:
- City of Center Point for Wakema Park Basketball and Pickleball: $8,333
- CSPS for State of the Art Capital Campaign: $5,000
- The History Center for Annual Public Programming: $30,333
- Linn County Fair Association for The Linn County Fair: $4,000
- National Czech & Slovak Museum for Faces of Freedom Exhibit Renovation: $2,333
The Board of Supervisors established the Linn County Legacy & Community Attraction Fund to foster and support both long-standing and new community events and organizations in Linn County that substantially promote the county’s history or culture and/or work to draw in residents and visitors. A goal of the grant program is to provide a small number of larger awards to make a more substantial impact to the recipient organizations. Recipients are selected through an annual competitive grant process.
This year, the Linn County Supervisors received grant requests totaling more than $220,000, with only $50,000 in available funds. The Board reduced funding for the grant program from $150,000 to $50,000 following budget cuts in fiscal year 2024 and fiscal year 2025.
