Authorities have released the name of the driver who was killed in a crash near Cascade early Friday.
The Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office says the accident was discovered by a Delaware County Sheriff’s deputy shortly after 3 am in the 2900 block of Goose Hill Road. The Dubuque and Delaware County Sheriff’s’s Offices responded to the scene, along with Cascade Fire and EMS.
An investigation revealed that an eastbound passenger car driven by 26-year old John Gadient of Cascade left the roadway, traveled through the south side ditch area and struck a tree.
Gadient, who was the only person in the vehicle, died at the scene.
