The City and School Elections are two weeks from today – and now until then, we’ll be introducing you to the candidates who will be appearing on this year’s ballots.
This year’s election features a contested race for Manchester mayor, with incumbent Connie Behnken being challenged by city council member Joe Dittrick.
Today, we’ll introduce you to Connie Behnken.
Behnken has spent the past nearly four years as Manchester’s mayor, taking over for longtime mayor Milt Kramer in 2022. Behnken says serving as mayor is very different from her past role as a city council member because the mayor doesn’t vote. Instead, she views the mayor as serving as the community’s ambassador – and that’s a role she’s embraced.
If she is re-elected as the mayor of Manchester, Behnken says there are several projects she’d like to continue working on, including the City’s comprehensive plan.
Behnken will face Joe Dittrick in the November 4th City Election. We’ll hear from Dittrick coming up on Wednesday’s KMCH Local News.
Polls will be open on Tuesday, November 4th from 7 am to 8 pm – you can find your polling place by calling the Delaware County Auditor’s Office or checking online HERE. Or you can vote absentee in-person weekdays from 8 am to 4:30 pm through November 3rd at the Delaware County Auditor’s Office at the courthouse.
