PLYMOUTH COUNTY, Iowa (Iowa Media Wire) — A young woman has died following a weekend crash in Plymouth County.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, a pickup truck was traveling west on C12 on Saturday evening when it crossed the center line.
The vehicle crashed head-on into a farm truck traveling east while preparing to turn off the roadway.
According to authorities, the 19-year-old driver of the pickup truck was pronounced dead at the scene. She was identified as Sarah Van Ostrand, of Struble. Reports indicated Van Ostrand was wearing a seatbelt during the collision.
The driver of the farm truck, a man from Sioux Center, was not injured. The Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office and Le Mars Fire Rescue responded to the scene.
