A rural Mingo man has been sentenced for injuring the mother of his child during a confrontation back in late October of 2022. District Associate Judge Steven Holwerda accepted 29 year old Zachary William Souder’s guilty plea to Assault Causing Injury, and dismissed a Child Endangerment charge. Deputies said the confrontation, which left the woman with a swollen lump on her head and marks around her neck, occurred in front of their child at Souder’s North 85th Avenue West Home northeast of Mingo. A No Contact Order was requested by the victim. Souder has been sentenced to 1 year of Probation. A 90-day jail term has been suspended. Souder has to pay a 430-dollar fine, and undergo Substance Abuse and Psychological evaluations and any recommended treatment.
