Patricia Lorine (Francke) Bengtson, affectionately known as Pat, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2026, at the age of 78.
Pat was born on August 25, 1948, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Philip and Gloria (Gibbs) Francke.
She graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy and later met her husband, Barry, while working at Allied Insurance.
Pat cherished spending time with family and her many close friends. She especially enjoyed playing cards, sharing dinners and traveling together.
She was also a devoted Iowa Hawkeyes fan who loved spending fall Saturdays in Iowa City cheering on her beloved Hawks.
Pat is survived by her husband, Barry; sons, Ryan (Laura) Bengtson of Minburn and Brad Bengtson of Waukee; granddaughter, Olivia; brothers, Pete and Mike Francke; niece, Nicole; and nephews, Ben, Jacob, Andrew and Tyler.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Philip and Gloria Francke; and sisters, Kathy and Lisa.
Visitation will be held Sunday, Oct. 25 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home-Perry Chapel at 1721 Park St. in Perry.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday, Oct. 26 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Patrick Catholic Church at 1312 Third St. in Perry, with burial to follow at Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry, Iowa.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Raccoon River Pet Rescue in Perry or to a charity of your choice in Pat’s memory.
