The City of Muscatine is closing part of Riverside Park temporarily on Tuesday to make room for a river cruise ship that will dock downtown.
KCRG TV reports the American Melody, a river cruise vessel run by American Cruise Lines, will arrive in Muscatine around 10pm Monday. Passengers will get off the ship Tuesday morning and spend time in Muscatine from 8am to about 12:30pm. The ship is set to leave at 1pm Tuesday.
The stop will be the last one for the season. The City of Muscatine says the season brought in thousands of new visitors to its riverfront, shops and attractions in its historic downtown.
