This Saturday is a day to get rid of your old medications.
It’s the Drug Enforcement Administration’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.
At locations across the country, DEA and its partners will collect tablets, capsules, patches and other solid forms of prescription drugs. For more than a decade, the event has helped Americans easily rid their homes of unneeded medications—those that are old, unwanted, or expired—that too often become a gateway to addiction.
One of the local Drug Take Back events on Saturday is taking place at the Linn County Sheriff’s Office from 10 am to 2 pm.
Delaware County no longer holds a Drug Take Back event – that’s because you can drop off old medications anytime 24/7 at the drop box at the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office in Manchester.
