On Wednesday night, Michelle Root told the story of her late daughter, Sarah, and endorsed Ashley Hinson for U.S. Senate during Hinson’s statewide Fighting for Iowa bus tour in Council Bluffs. Michelle’s daughter, Sarah Root, was tragically killed in 2016 by an illegal immigrant who was driving while drunk and later fled the country after posting bail – before Sarah was even buried.
Thanks to Hinson’s leadership and support of Sarah’s Law, it is now U.S. law that illegal immigrants who harm or kill Americans are detained and held accountable – not released on bail.
“I appreciate everything Ashley Hinson has done for our family and for Iowa since she has been in Congress. We need to make her our next Senator,” said Michelle Root. “We cannot have Josh Turek. He believes in amnesty. He would have freed Sarah’s killer. Sarah had a dream. Sarah deserves to be here. But Josh Turek wants to protect those in our country illegally. Ashley Hinson wants to fight to protect us from those illegal aliens who commit crimes like the ones that killed my daughter.”
