This is National 4-H Week.
Delaware County has a strong 4-H program, with high participation. Sydney Demmer, who went through the Delaware County 4-H program herself, currently serves as the County Youth Coordinator through ISU Extension & Outreach.
4-H is open to all kids in 4th through 12th grade – whether they’re in the city or out in the country – and there’s a program for the younger kids too.
Demmer says 4-H can cover a wide range of interests when it comes to projects that you can bring to the Delaware County Fair, with truly something for everybody.
Since it is National 4-H Week, you may see some alumni proudly wearing their green 4-H shirts or sharing flashback photos from their 4-H days on social media. Demmer says 4-H week is being celebrated in all sorts of ways.
For more information about 4-H, visit the Delaware County ISU Extension & Outreach website or Delaware County 4-H Facebook page – or stop into the Extension Office if your child is interested in joining.
