Tigers Split POI Matches

The Lenox Tiger volleyball club was in action in a pair of Pride of Iowa Conference matches this past week. Tuesday the 2nd of September the Tigers took on Mt. Ayr for the second time in a week. This time the match was specific to Pride of Iowa standing, and a single match as opposed to quad-action last week.
The Raiderettes stunned the Tigers with three straight upsets: 22-25, 23-25, and 20-25 to win the match 3-0 over Lenox.
Thursday the 4th Lenox hit the road in POI play to Leon to take on the Cardinals of Central Decatur. A gritty performance for the Tigers saw them take the match 3-1 over the home team. In set one Lenox prevailed 25-17, fell in set two 13-25 to the Cardinals, before closing out the match with wins 27-25 and 25-22 to move to 1-1 in conference play.

Tigers Fall in Back 40 Battle

The Lenox Tiger football team traveled to southern Taylor County to compete in the ‘Back 40 Battle’ to see just where the hay (trophy) will be put up for 2026.
Bedford won the coin toss and elected to defer to the second half resulting in the Tigers receiving the opening kickoff. A Lenox lost fumble recovered by the Bulldogs set them up for their first offensive possession with a short field.
The Bulldogs kept the trophy on their sideline, the hay will stay down south, and bragging rights for another year- Final score Bedford 44; Tigers 20.
