The Iowa STEM Advisory Council at the Iowa Department of Education, in partnership with Google, is accepting nominations for the 2027 Iowa STEM Teacher Award.
Nominations are open through next Wednesday, September 30th.
Now in its 13th year, the award recognizes one full-time, licensed PK–12 teacher from each of Iowa’s six STEM regions. Recipients are selected for their passion for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, and their ability to spark student curiosity and inspire a lifelong interest in STEM.
Each of the six award recipients will receive $1,500 for classroom use and $1,500 for personal use.
Anyone can nominate a teacher by completing the online nomination form at educate.iowa.gov/STEM/Teacher Award.
Additional information about the award, including a list of past recipients, is available through the Iowa Department of Education website.
The 2027 Iowa STEM Teacher Award recipients will be announced in early 2027.
